Where can I go?

Longyan Village can be reached on Country Road 151 and 151-1 in Taiping Scenic Area, Chiayi County. The high points in the village, Dajian Mountain and Erjian Mountain, provide mountain views to the east and views of the Chia-Nan Plain to the west, with the pavilion on Erjian Mountain providing the best views. It takes around 40 minutes to drive to Longyan from Meishan Interchange on National Highway 3 and, in 30 minutes of the journey, the road climbs from an elevation of 80 meters to 1300 meters.

 

Longyan village’s main source of income is farming and the high mountain tea that has been grown since the 1980s is the main source of income. In 2001 the Council for Cultural Affairs provided a subsidy to the village development association for the building of trails. The villagers are actively trying to develop tourism and, surrounded by mountains, with views of the peaks of Yushan and the Chia-nan plain to be enjoyed from the high point in the Taiping Mountain Range, Dajian Mountain, and a pleasant climate, Longyan has good potential.
