Alishan Tsou food

This brochure provides a glimpse of indigenous Tsou cuisine. Included is a description of millet wine, which possesses a slightly sweet and sour taste but is not very strong. Rice and other ingredients steamed inside a bamboo tube is another favorite. Banana cakes are made from steamed glutinous rice that is pounded into a paste using a pestle and mortar. Banana is added to the paste, which is formed into balls. This is normally eaten with salted fish. Make sure to try some of the unique Tsou specialties during your visit to Alishan.
