步道簡介
Along Country Highway 149A, not far from Laiji Bridge, turn to a road that leads to Laiji Tribe. Soon you will see an ecological pond surrounded by a boardwalk. The adjacent small road is part of the trail.

If you would like to start from a higher location and experience the trail in a more comfortable way, you could walk a bit ahead and find the starting point of the trail at the back of the parking lot of A Ku Ya Na Homestay.神話步道圖The name, Myth Trail, originated from the Tsou tribal myths about this trail. Tsou mythology describes that the ’Ba’edon’u goddess loves cleaning so much that she kept sweeping the mountains and created landslides. Tribesmen, under the instructions of the shaman, placed many “mountain treasures” at different locations facing the mountain. This move made the goddess shy such that she hid and stopped cleaning. The aftermath of the “mountain treasures” is left for your own discovery. Follow the trail of stone pavement and wooden stairs, you will find the surrounding houses and plants like a beautifully designed garden.

After the shaded boardwalk, you will arrive at a tarred road. Follow this road for a while and you will enter a section of concrete pavement, where you will find the giant “sleeping bull rock.” Legend has it that in addition to this bull rock, there is a cow rock. The two had a fight and the cow kicked the bull off the mountain. The bull rock did not hit anyone on the way down. Local elders used this as a cautionary tale to teach married couples about relationships. After the bull rock, you should continue on and soon arrive at the ecological pond at the other entrance. Take a break here to observe water ecology and ponder upon the Tsou tribal tales.
