步道簡介
This trail is about 8km long. With beautiful scenery along the way, hikers can enjoy the view of the back of Xiang Mountain as well as Longtou and Xiding on Alishan Highway (Provincial Highway 18). However, great natural beauty comes with risks to those who aim to conquer it. The way to Jushiban and Jushiban itself can be dangerous. It is best to be guided by local tribesmen who are most familiar with the local environment. Once you have completed the turning mountain roads, you will come to a steep slope and the entrance of Limei Refuge Trail from Lijia to Shanmei can be found. After a section of farm road by the cliffs and bamboo forest, you will arrive at the parking lot of Jushiban Trail.
Take the industrial road from the parking lot intersection to go to the highest point, top of Jushiban. Then follow the trail down and enjoy the view of Jushiban in its entirety along the way. Crossing the creek and through the bamboo forest, the sounds of unknown animals remind you that you are indeed in a secluded place. At the end of this trail, you will find the slanted Jushiban. Climb up by grabbing the rope. You will reach the top soon where you can see the top of Jushiban in its entirety. The gullies and cracks on the giant rock plate, as well as the overflows and streams hidden underneath are all geological wonders popular among geologists and geography enthusiasts.
From the top of Jushiban follow the trail down. After the washing of the rain from Typhoon Herb in 2006, what has been revealed is not only the 700-m long exposed bedrock, but also potholes under the bridge at the mid-section of the trail. The pavilion at the end of the trail provides relaxing cool breeze and a great view of the beautiful Danayi Valley.
