At the 66-km marker of Alishan Highway (Provincial Highway 18), turn to Zhonghu Tribe Connecting Road and continue for about 4.5km then you will arrive.
Starting from the trail entrance opposite to the Earth God Temple, you should walk counterclockwise and soon you will find the dragon ball rock. Folklore has it that walking clockwise from the left of the dragon ball rock will bring you safety, wealth, and good health; while walking counterclockwise from the right of the rock will bring you good fortunes, success, and long life. Continuing on the trail and after passing by the tea fields and the intersection leading to the parking lot, you will find yourself in the cedar forest again. Arisaema Taiwanense in the bushes, with stems and seeds looking like hammers, is Thor’s hammer at the bottom of the forest. The “Titanic rock” that looks like the bow of a ship is a miniature Sibisibi cliff. The hills and cliffs on the path form a miniature canyon. After visiting the natural bunker formed by rocks, after coming out of the woods, you will find the Guanyin rock standing tall right in front of you.
After observing closely the shell fossils on the surface of Guanyin rock, on the path along the industrial road, you will find a pavilion with local produce, flowers, and birds painted on ceramic and stone plates. After that you will enter a cedar forest where you will find a north-west bound connection to Dadongshan Trail. Continuing on, you can enjoy a nature therapy on the stone plated path among the giant trees. Following down the path, you can first visit giant stout camphor trees before going through the cedar forest to go back to the starting point.
