Alishan National Scenic Area can be divided into three major recreational areas: "Provincial Highway 18" ,"Northwest Corridor Area" and "Tsou Culture Area" based on their geographical and cultural features. From the plains to the high mountains, in the tea gardens, bamboo forests, and native forests, it is worthwhile for visitors to slow down their pace and feel the soothing vibe of nature. The indigenous Tsou tribes are also worth a visit for learning about indigenous culture.

The diverse ecology of Alishan National Scenic Area is characterized by monthly highlights. Through their geographical, ecological, and cultural features, these highlights give visitors a different mood. Therefore, the concept of "The Alishan Mood" is chosen to portray the ever-changing scenery and beauty of Alishan. Visitors are invited to experience first-hand the myriad changes in Alishan, through viewing the blooming flowers, sunrise, sunset, sea of clouds, maple leaves, birds, fireflies; and enjoying recreational activities such as natural therapy in the forest, hiking, and stargazing.

The Alishan Mood series of events officially kicked off on January 8th and 9th, 2022. A two-day event was held at Niupuzi Love Prairie of Chukou with performances given by the internationally renowned Tendrum Art Percussion Group; Accusefive, who won the Best Asian Artist (Mandarin) award of Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA); and Tsou indigenous music and dance artists. Alishan's tea settings of the four seasons, picnics, specialty markets, workshops, and games for families were also available on site.

In addition, a series of tourism activities are held in Alishan, including Alishan tea parties of four seasons, Shizhuo spring cherry blossom night tour, Ruili wisteria season, firefly season, Eryanping trail tour, Xinmei Pasu hunter camp, Guanyin Waterfall tour, Taixing cattle egret tour, and Alishan international tea art workshop.

It is hoped that, with the series of events, visitors will visit Alishan, explore its beauty, and find their own "Alishan mood." All are invited to walk into Alishan to interact with nature, explore the different traditional culture of tribes, and taste the most natural and delicious local cuisine, to create a dialogue with Alishan, find its warmth, and have a spontaneous encounter with the forest.
