Alishan National Scenic Area Administration of Tourism Bureau, MOTC (hereinafter the Alishan Administration) in collaboration with the nine Tsou tribes jointly organized the Alishan Tsou Annual Festival. On October 8, 2021, the Alishan Tsou Annual Festival press conference was held at Chukou Visitor Center. Nunuye Dance Troupe from Chashan tribe gave brilliant Tsou music and dance performance and opened the event, warmly inviting people from everywhere to visit Alishan and enjoy the charm of the Tsou tribe and have an in-depth experience of Tsou culture.
Director Hong Weixin of the Alishan Administration stated that, the traditional lifestyle of the Tsou people in Alishan and the rich eco-tourism resources are the one-and-only cultural treasures of Taiwan. With respect to the tribes and their traditional culture, themed activities with local characteristics are launched and promoted jointly by the Administration and the local tribes. This series of events are recognized and supported by people of the tribes and outsiders. This year, the next event will be the Chashan Hufu Festival on November 27-28, the Zhulu Sharing Festival on December 4-5, and the "Shanmei Taiwan Shovel-jaw Carp Festival" on December 19. These are all recommended itineraries for the best in-depth travel during the fall and winter seasons. People from all over Taiwan are warmly welcomed to the tribes to experience the unique charm of the legendary Tsou Annual Festival.
In addition, the beloved Muni Music Festival music and dance cultural exchange event will be held in December. Under the pandemic, this event still attracted many visitors last year and has become one of the most popular music events in Taiwan in recent years. In addition to the outstanding Tsou music and dance groups such as Yupasuengi, Zhulu Performing Arts Troupe, Jumping Mountain Forest, and Nunuye Dance Troupe, other indigenous groups such as the Amis, Puyuma, and Bunun people are also invited to bring their own performances to the event, allowing different cultures to mix to create new art forms. The award-winning indigenous singer Sangpuy Katatepan Mavaliyw is expected to take the event to its climax with his performance. The voice of Alishan will touch the heart and soul of people.
In recent years, the Alishan Administration has assisted the nine tribes to promote tribal tours and received very positive feedback. These nine classic tours include Hunters’ tour at Zhulu Tribe, Saviki Tanayiku Nature and Ecology Park tour, Xinmei Niahosa hunter’s legend tour, Chashan Hufu tour, Leye Lalauya coffee tour, Dabang Kuba Tour, Tefuye Hosa tour, Lijia blue tribe bounty hunter tour, and Tashan boar hunter tour.
