Alishan National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC held the “2019 Four Seasons of Alishan Tea Tourism - Spring Equinox Grassland Tea Party” at Chukou Niupuzai Grassland. There are three sections of tea settings including tea settings from ten local communities, tea settings for award-winning tea, and Taikong tea settings. Local community tea settings showcase local tea and extended products that integrate local tea industry and culture, with local atmosphere, ecology, plants, and seasonal flowers, in creative setup of unique Alishan characters, presenting the essence of Alishan tea culture at Niupuzai Grassland.

Seven international tea experts (from the U.S., Turkey, Indonesia, Spain and Brazil) were invited to perform tea service at the Taikong tea setting. Japanese tea ceremony masters from the Urasenke Tankokai International Association were invited to perform tea ceremony. Tea experts from Kirei Chabou of Kobei, Japan were also invited for a cultural exchange with the Alishan tea experts and an in-depth tea tour of Alishan. At the tea settings for award-winning tea, you can find the finest-quality Alishan tea. Visitors can taste more than 40 types of Alishan tea on site representing the rich and dynamic tea culture of Alishan.

The first “Alishan Young Farmers’ creative tea setting – picnic tea party” organized by youths as an interdisciplinary and inter-village collaboration is also a highlight this year. Creating a young and bright, easy, and carefree atmosphere, young and new thinking has been injected into Alishan’s traditional tea industry. Ten different specialty tea combo giftboxes have been designed to promote the high-quality Alishan tea from a younger perspective, with vitality and creativity. It is hoped a new brand of young farmers of Alishan can be established for the future promotion of the Alishan tea culture.
