Introduction
Dinghu is located next to Shizhuo and it is an important focus of the development of eco-tourism planned by the Alishan National Scenic Area Headquarters in recent years.
Dinghu Circular Trail includes the Moso Bamboo Forest Trail, the Primeval Forest Boardwalk, and trace fossils. It’s suitable for a 1-2 hour long hike. At about the 66-km marker of Provincial Highway 18, about 100m ahead of Mihu Trail, turn left and walk uphill for 4km. Once you turn into Dinghu, you will have unobstructed wide views. You can see farmers working in the tea fields and the mists between layers of mountains. In the park, you can walk along the trail to the pavilion and moso bamboo forest. There is also a primeval forest trail that leads to Dadongshan. In front of the pavilion you’ll find a huge rock, which the locals refer to as Guanyin rock. On the surface of the rock you will find trace fossils.
