The temple, which enshrines the Ji Gong Living Buddha, is one of the most important sights of Chukou.

On the third day of the 10th lunar month every year, the day of the sacrifice ceremony, a grand fire walking ritual is held. The objective of the ritual is to bring people good luck and drive away evil. The TV drama “Ji Gong” of 1995 set the story at the temple and was also filmed there, making the temple well known.
